Today’s highly skilled nanotechnology and nanosystems engineers to meet nanotech industries needs: Education and training

Nanotechnology has applications in industries including electronics, energy, environment, food, agriculture, medical/medicine, cosmetic, textile, transportation, among many others. With facing new demands in the nanotech industries, a key challenge is to appropriately educate and train a new generation of skilled workers and prepare today’s highly skilled workforce to meet the employers’ needs. This study briefly reviews the nanosystems engineering workforce needs and nanotechnology education. Finally, it discusses the potential of artificial intelligence in nanotechnology research, education, and workforce development.
