Ranking of provinces prone to medical tourism for the elderly in order to build a Hospital Hotel

One crucial factor in the success of tourist destinations, which also reflects their performance, is the selection of an appropriate destination based on the available resources in that area. The classification of cities with potential for medical tourism among the elderly enables more precise planning to identify the optimal location for constructing a hospital hotel within the country. Therefore, the present study aimed to classify the country's metropolises and examine the provinces' positions regarding the best access to the location of the elderly hospital construction. The current study is an applied type with a survey-descriptive nature and has a cross-sectional design in terms of time. The research's statistically population comprises province susceptible to medical tourism. The necessary data for accessing medical tourism indicators in the health and treatment sector were extracted from the country's statistical yearbook for ۲۰۲۱ and the website of the country's medical system, as well as the website of the foreign affairs regarding hospitals. This was done with the permission of IPD. FAHP fuzzy hierarchical and TOPSIS method, Excel, and LINQ software have been used to perform the analysis. The results showed that in terms of medical tourism indicators, In terms of medical tourism indicators, Tehran province was ranked first by a significant margin compared to other provinces in the country for constructing a hospital dedicated to the elderly.
