چکیده مقاله:

Knowledge of the engineering properties of soil layers is of utmost importance in geotechnical engineering. The shear strength of soils is a significant geotechnical property since it is necessary for analyzing and solving stability problems (for example, calculating the earth pressure and the bearing capacity of foundations and earth dams). Triaxial, direct shear, and direct torsional shear tests are among the experiments used to determine the shear strength of soil. Out of these, the direct shear test has attracted the most attention due to its simplicity and repeatability. Biopolymers are natural polymers that consist of monomer units made of carbonaceous compounds and are synthesized by organisms. They improve the cohesion and erosion resistance of soil while reducing its permeability. As an effective and environmentally friendly material, biopolymers are also a good alternative to regular Portland cement in geotechnical engineering. The present research introduces a number of well-known biopolymers The activities carried out by researchers and the analysis of shear resistance parameters of different types of soil, a comparison between the behavior of soils in similar concentrations of biopolymers have been investigated.
