Using recycled aggregate (RA)from construction and demolish (C&D) waste materials would be agood resource for concrete aggregate in view of the environmental and financial effects. Because ofthe poor quality of RA comparable to natural aggregate (NA), it has negative effects on recycledaggregate concrete (RAC) properties, which are made by RA. Hence, the solution would beenhancing the properties of RCA. Recently, there is attention to using nano-materials to improverecycled aggregate concrete properties. This paper reviews the published articles, using nanomaterials to improve recycled aggregate concrete and is divided into the following sections: themechanism of improving recycled aggregate concrete using nano-particles, mixing method of nanomaterials with concrete admixture and nano-particles dosage, mechanical characteristics of RACsuch as the compressive strength (CS), splitting tensile strength (STS), and flexural tensile strength(FTS), and influence of nano-particles on the RAC workability (Slump). Further investigationssuggested for investigation of shrinkage, creep, and thermal effects of these nano-materials in RAC,further determination of the optimal quantity of these additives, and establishment of a standard formix design method for ensuring the consistency in the production process.
