Usually, per capita energy consumption is higher in advanced and developed countries due to high per capita income and the feasibility of having diverse devices and equipment. But in recent decades, due to measures that have led to an increase in productivity in these countries, the per capita consumption of these countries has been adjusted. However, less measures have been taken to decrease energy consumption through sustainable architectural strategies in the residential buildings interior design. Therefore, this research, which is qualitative research and is descriptive-analytical in terms of methodology, aims to define practical strategies to improve the energy efficiency quality in the interior spaces of residential buildings in order to achieve the sustainable architecture goals. Based on the research results, it can be acknowledged that due to the fact that the resources available on earth for its inhabitants are limited, the effort to provide solutions such as using smart materials and materials that react to environmental issues can facilitate the maintenance of buildings and improve the useful life of buildings. Also, the simultaneous design of solar systems (panels) which are integrated with the facade and the building roof, the flexible and modular layout of the residential buildings interior, and finally using central spaces in the interior design of residential spaces are effective in reducing energy consumption in buildings.
