Aim:The purpose of this study was to assess fear of COVID-۱۹ and its effect on QoL in pregnant women
Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on ۶۴۷ pregnant women from six Pontianak-Health-Centre areas. Three survey instruments including sociodemographic questionnaire, obstetric status, the Fear of COVID-۱۹ Scale (FCV-۱۹S), and the QoL Gravidarum (QOL-GRAV) were used to assess for an association between fear of COVID-۱۹ and pregnancy-related QoL using Pearson correlation test. Generalized linear modelling was used to identify dominant variables
Findings: The mean fear of pregnant women was found to be fearful ± ۲۱.۵۶ (۹.۶), the mean QoL experienced a decrease ± ۲۵.۰۲ (۸.۷). Regression linear test showed a dominant relation between job and parity status and QoL during pregnancy (β=-۰.۷۵, sig=۰.۰۳۳, β=-۰.۰۸۳, sig=۰.۰۰۵)
Conclusion: There was no correlation between fear of COVID-۱۹ with QoL, while job and parity are dominant influences for QoL in pregnant women. Additional antenatal care services are needed to minimize the fear experienced by pregnant women and improve QoL. In addition, mental health and psychosocial support must continue to be provided during the outbreak
