چکیده مقاله:
Sulfur contaminants, prevalent in hydrocarbon products, are suspected of triggering detrimentalenvironmental impacts when they undergo conversion into sulfur oxides during combustion.Desulfurization is a vital step in the improvement of fuels. Electrochemical desulfurization technologiespresent benefits compared to conventional hydrodesulfurization methods in several aspects.Electrochemical desulfurization is distinguished by its gentle reaction conditions, straightforwardoperation, convenient separation of sulfur conversion products, and minimal impact on thecharacteristics of the liquefied residue. In this paper, the fundamentals of electrochemical techniquewere briefly introduced, then the ruling factors such as supporting electrolyte, electrochemical reactorsand catalysts in the electrochemical desulfurization process were discussed.
