چکیده مقاله:
Mangroves have a global distribution within coastal tropical and subtropical climates, and have even expanded to some temperate locales. Where they do occur, mangroves provide a plethora ofgoods and services, ranging from coastal protection from storms and erosion to direct income for human societies. The cycling of heavy metals, because of their toxicity, bio-accumulation capacity and persistence, is a serious question that recently becomes important. In contrast with organicpollutants, heavy metals cannot be biologically or chemically degraded, and thus may eitheraccumulate locally or be transported over long distances.
