Ce(Salophene)/TiO2/HY as an efficient, reusable and eco-friendly photocatalystin the degradation of nitrophenol

In the present work, Ce(Salophene )/TiO2/HY is synthesized by a flexible ligand and impregnation method. This catalytic system was used as an efficientphotocatalystin the degradation of nitrophenol. Complete degradation was achieved after irradiation with solar light, being the reaction rate dependent on the initial pH. The effect of various parameters such as catalyst loading, pH, amount of H2O2 and initial concentration of 4-nitrophenol on degradation has been determined. The best result was obtained using 1 ml H2O2, natural medium, 0.01 g catalyst and 10-4 M 4-NP.
