چکیده مقاله:

In the present research, effect of Equal channel angular rolling(ECAR) as one of the severe plastic deformation process on the structure of 5083 aluminum alloy sheets have been investigated. By applying the rolling process can be structural with uniformly grain size and even improvement in mechanical properties along with appropriate formability achieved. The aim of this study was to determine the formability of sheets produced by the ECAR process at room temperature. For this purpose, firstly the micro-hardness and Mechanical properties were extracted after each pass. It was observed that by each passing, continual improvement in yield strength and hardness were made while elongation at break was reduced. At the 3th pass, the yield strength, ultimate strength and hardness values respectively increased by 75%, 15% and 73%. Moreover, the forming limit diagrams (FLDs) were determined experimentally by using the Nakazima test. The obtained results showed that after 3th pass the level of the FLDs moves downward which means a reduction in the forming limits of ECARed samples.
