Synthesis of CuO(45)/ZnO(40)/Al2O3(15) Nanocatalyst Using Boehmite and Aluminum Nitrate for Steam Reforming of Methanol for Hydrogen Production

چکیده مقاله:

Two CuO(45)/ZnO(40)/Al2O3(15) nanocatalysts were synthesized via novel urea-nitrate combustion with bohemite and aluminium nitrate as two different alumina precursors to produce hydrogen via steam reforming of methanol. Different characterization techniques were utilized to analyse their properties.XRD showed the crystallinity of active phase metallic oxides and also lower crystal sizes for the sample with aluminium nitrate. FESEM proved the well distribution and nanometric scale of two nanocatalysts. EDX illustrated the presence of all elements in the structure. Finally, catalytic performance tests illustrated that nitrateprecursor increased methanol conversion but on the other hand, the amount of produced CO was more than bohemite precursor catalyst. Accordingly, bohemite is a better alumina precursor for catalysts of steam reforming of methanol and also this nanocatalyst showed stability in SRM for 480 min
