چکیده مقاله:

Nowadays replaced new materials instead of metals are getting more efficient. Composite materials offer significant design advantages in the automotive and aerospace industry. High strength and light weight are the two most attractive features for aircraft and space vehicle designs. However, their complex material behavior makes analysis of these structures a significant challenge, particularly in a high speed impact event.Due to good strength to weight ratio of the composite components, they have been used widely in the automotive industries and their energy absorption capabilities also have been received considerable attention by previous researchers. In this Study to show the influence of composite materials, two types of drive shaft made of steel and carbon composite were tested under torsion and in terms of weight and torsion strengthare compared. The advanced composite modeling and simulation analysis was done by Abaqus/Explicit. The results of this simulation are compared with the experimental tests and the verification of this study is performed. Then, using validated model parametric study is performed and some parameters such as fiber orientation, composite lay-up, and thickness on the torsional behavior of carbon composite drive shafts areinvestigated. It is carried out to find the effect of fiber orientation and stacking sequence on natural frequency and buckling torque of composite drive shaft.
