Evaluation of the Bandar Abbas city Dentists’ Knowledge about Anaphylactic Shock Related to Local Anesthetic Drugs

Recent Epidemiology studies suggest that drugs which are the cause of anaphylactic shock have had an increased grown all over the world, including developing countries rather the past few years. Being familiar with the prevention actions from anaphylactic shock, especially because of the local anesthesia drugs injection used in dentistry has a very significant importance. The purpose of this study is to determine the awareness of dentists of Bandar Abbas city about the symptoms, signs and management of anaphylactic shock in a time of facing and dealing with it. This study is the descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional type that is performed on 133 people from the community of dentists working in private offices or dental clinics. Information of this study is supplied from regulatory questionnaire using the supplied article by Cetin kaya et al. The questionnaire was selected, completed and answered by 65 people from 100 dentists. According to the results of this study, the dentists have had a brief familiarity with symptoms and anaphylactic shock signs and away from expectation, so that none of them answered correctly to all questions, particularly those associated with anaphylactic shock. The result of this study showed that most of dentists do not have enough knowledge about anaphylaxis. It is offered to have more training program about the subject
