چکیده مقاله:
Stress is defined as organism exposure to adverse environmental stress, which decrease growth and development. Salt stress limits growth and yield of crop products through declined osmotic potential and disordering in some nutrient elements absorption. Salinity cause perturbation in cell division and metabolic reactions through mimic water stress. Jasmonic acid, derived from linoleic acid, has a role in activation of defense systems, physiological processes including seed germination and elevation of plant tolerance in biotic and abiotic stress. Hibiscus is rich of citric acid, anthocyanin, and antioxidant compounds, which have an important role in decrease of blood pressure. In the present study, plants exposed to different salinity levels (0, 25, 50, 100, 150 and 300 mM) along with jasminic acid concentrations of 0, 50, 150, 500 and 1000 μM in a factorial design. Salinity cause decreased growth factors and physiological parameters such as chlorophyll and soluble sugars contents. However, jasmonic acid treatments showed that this phytohormones can enhance protein and chlorophyll contents with growth factors such as height, fresh weight, flower number and carbohydrate accumulation. Thus, jasmonic acid can improve salt tolerance in Hibiscus.
