چکیده مقاله:

The ovary is a common site of metastasis from various organs. However, little is known about gallbladder carcinoma metastasis to the ovaries and presenting as a primary ovarian tumor. Krukenberg tumors are metastatic tumors to the ovary that contain well defined histological characteristics-mucin-secreting signet ring cells and usually originate in the gastrointestinal tract. The time from diagnosis of the primary neoplasm to the development of ovarian metastasis is variable, and can range from several months to > 10 years. Here we report a bilateral krukenberg tumor in a 77-year-old woman. In macroscopic view Both her right and left ovaries were enlarged and the tumor size were 4.5× 4 × 3.5 cm and 13 × 10 × 7 cm, respectively. After Cholecystectomy we found well differentiated adenocarcinoma with full thickness involvement and, gangrenous appearance. There was a well differentiated adenocarcinoma, with massive necrosis and hemorrhagic infarction in resection of left and right ovarian tumor. In conclusion Differentiation between primary and metastatic ovarian carcinoma is of great importance with respect to treatment and prognosis, but may be very difficult based upon imaging findings and we needs pathologic finding to confirm it.
