چکیده مقاله:

Background: Abnormal levels of four markers including alpha-feto protein (AFP), uconjugated esteriol (uE3), Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and inhibin-A has been proved to be useful in predicting pregnancy outcomes. In this study we share our experience in order to correlate abnormal quadruple test and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Methods: In this study we enrolled 4250 pregnant women from September 2015 to March 2017 referring to Boghrat Laboratory in eastern Tehran, including 2072 patients for first trimester, 1126 patients for second trimester and 1052 patients for sequential tests. Results: Among 4250 patients, 178 patients had positive quadruple screening test(first trimester: 20, second trimester: 104, sequential test: 54) . Among patients with a positive quadruple screening test, 45 patients underwent amniocentesis and 3 patientsscheduled for abortion after amniocentesis. Neurologic scan was done for 20 patients with abnormally high AFP, among this group 2 fetus were born death. remaining 173 patients with positive screening result and all patient with a negative screening were born healthy. Conclusion: Abnormal quadruple test could be associated with fetal death.
