Responsiveness educational system of the elderly in Siahkal county with the study of the causes of elderly deaths in 2017

Background: One of the challenges in the field of health in recent years are to respond to the educational system due to the high prevalence of causes of death in the elderly, which has an effective role in preventing the disease and related complications. In Iran, the causes of death in the elderly have not been well-studied for responding to the educational system. The present study aimed to answer the educational system of the elderly in the county of Siahkal by examining the frequency of causes of death in the elderly living in the county in 1396.Materials and Methods: This retrospective study was conducted on 329 deaths registered in the county of Siahkal in 2017, 240 of them were resident in the county of Siahkal. Initially, through Unit of vital events, the some cases and causes of death were investigated in 96 years. Includes demographic characteristics, sex, causes of death, age and time were reviewed through the death certificate.Results: The results showed that the highest death rate was in the age group of elderly over 60 years old (72.94%), and the elderly women were the total death rate (35.25%) and men (37.68%). Also, the highest frequency of the elderly died in the age group of <80 (64.16%). The most common causes of death from cardiovascular diseases (58.75%) were in women (55.31%) and men (44.68%) and respiratory diseases (15.41%) and cancer and tumors with (13.33%) are the three main causes of the death of the elderly in the county, and women are more likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease than men.Conclusion: Elderly can lead to irreversible disorders in the cardiovascular system. Lifestyle change and education can prevent the irreversible complications of this phenomenon and women are more likely to be at risk than the men. Adequate education is needed to change lifestyle in preventing the disease and its related complications
