Epidemiological study of trauma caused by accidents in patients referred to the emergency department of Khalilabad boarding health center in 2017

Trauma is one of the most important health problems in the world, and it is one of the causes of mortality and disability both in industrial and developing countries. In Iran, trauma is the second leading cause of death in young people, and annually costs the healthcare system billions of dollars. This study is a cross-descriptive study of 1347 patients who referred to emergency boarding center and data collection included factors such as age, sex, location, type, result, time of incident.The results of this research were recorded and analyzed by the SPSS software. In this study 1347 subjects were investigated. Among the persons who had accident in this study, 17.7% were women and 82.3% were men. Among them 47.4% were living in the city and 50.1% were living in rural areas. In addition, the results showed that most accidents were in 1388(2009) and 1389(2010) years in the age group 21-30. Among the various types of accidents and incidents that happened and have been studied, most cases were in this way: shock 44.6%, crash motorcycles 33.7%, fall 13.5%.Most accidents occurred in the summer. This study showed that the most frequent location of the accident was related to the alleys and streets. The number of deaths were three cases. In this study, the statistical tests showed that there are a significant relationship between gender and location and type of accident p< 0.05 and this means that the sex factor affecting the occurrence of accidents .There is also a meaningful relationship between age with location and type of accident and sex p< 0.05, and this means that age is an affecting factor in occurrence of accidents. There is a meaningful relationship between area with location of accident and type of accident and the season that accident happened p< 0.05. and in other studies also there is a relationship. In this study the statistical tests show that there is a meaningful relationship between gender with age, location and type of incident, p< 0.05 and this means that gender is a factor affecting the occurrence of accidents. There was also a meaningful relationship between age with location and type of accident and between area with location of accident and type of accident and the season that accident happened p< 0.05 that there are relationships in other studies.Results showed that most events occurred in men, and in age group of 21-30. The frequency of accidents was of trauma type, traffic accidents, and crashes that occurred mostly in summer. High in men s events at a young age was due to traffic accidents, falls and head injury caused by these factors are of noteworthy points. The need for analytical research to identify causes of accidents and recommendations should be considered as one of the priorities of health care.It seems that with increased knowledge of scientific community about the epidemiology of traffic accidents, we can act in primary prevention level, and promote public awareness of society.
