Neurocognitive disorders with an emphasis on Alzheimer s disease

Neurocognitive disorders include a group of disorders in which the main symptom is an acquired impairment in cognitive function (e.g., executive function, metacognition, learning and memory, complex attention, language, perceptual-motor skills). Delirium, dementia, amnesia, and other cognitive disorders have been transmitted to Neurocognitive disorders chapter in DSM-5. In this oral presentation, I will discuss about the diagnostic, ethiological, and some behavioral, cognitive, and personality traits of Neurocognitive disorders with an emphasis on Alzheimer s disease (DAT). I will investigate the epidemiology of DAT in Iran and in the world. After that describes the advances in pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment for DAT. Finally, the neuropsychological evaluation process for DAT will be explained in terms of Persian-validated tools that may be interesting for neuropsychologists.
