چکیده مقاله:

Encroaching and unauthorized third -party activities named mechanical damages are caused by failures of on-land pipelines. Third-party contact with oil and gas pipelines can result in mechanical damage to the pipeline right of way (ROW). This type of damage often incurs unreported destroy and it can cause to disastrous failure of the pipe. For this sake, we need a reliable and effective strategy for encroachment monitoring and reporting third-party contact events. This paper discussed the use of polarimetric spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (such as RADARSAT-2) for pipeline encroachment monitoring. Detection methodologies based on the Polarimetric Whitening Filter, Cameron Decomposition, and measures of even bounce contributions to the backscatter have been examined.Test imagery in polarimetric mode were obtained from test area near the shores of Lake Simcoe (north of Toronto, Ontario). This study applied the current target detection processes used by via+ and C-CORE in the operational service capability
