چکیده مقاله:

Although the most researches in anthropometry (human body measure such as weight, height and bmi) were performed, however, few researches have been done in the field of ethnicity in terms of anthropometric indicators. in this study the anthropometric index of hand finger lengths has been evaluated and compared in 7-10 years old boys with Persian and Baloch race. This study was performed on 150 Baloch race students that residing in Mehrestan city (Sistan and Balochestan) and 312 male students Persians living in Mashhad. The length of thumb(1D), index finger(2D), middle finger(3D), ring finger(4D) and pinkie finger(5D) in both races measured with digital caliper. The results of anthropometric measurements in the Persian at 7-10 years ages showed that mean of 3D length has maximum size and mean of 5D length has minimum size. Average length of 3D was maximum and 1D was the minimum In Baloch. Based on the results, it was found that the average length of 5 fingers in the Baloch race is more than the Persian race. It is recommended that the results of this study are used in diagnostic studies of ethnicity and interracial relationships, family tree, genetic and developmental studies, medical engineering and plastic surgery.
