Epidemiology of anger and its Relationship with Mental Health in Traumatic Patients Referring to Shahid Rajaee Hospital in Shiraz

Background: Trauma around the world has become one of the important issues of health, and every year there are many victims. Fighting and Traffic accident are the mechanisms leading to trauma. One of the major factors leading to trauma is anger . While in the field of mental health, compatibility with the environment is important, non-control of anger can threaten mental and social health. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the anger epidemiology and relation between Anger Management and Mental Health in aggressive assault trauma patients.Methods : The present study is a correlation. The field of research was Shahid Rajaee Hospital, affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. The available sampling method was used. To measure the anger outbreak, the standard Novaqui s anger control questionnaire was used. To assess mental health, a general mental health questionnaire (GHQ-28) containing 28 standard questions was used.Results: 205 cases participated in the study. 120 people were assaulted and 85 were injured in traffic accidents. The mean age of participants was 32.17 - 13.68 years, with the lowest participation age of 15 years and the highest of 84 years. 95% of the participants had a diploma and lower. 52.7% of the participants confirmed anger and lack of control over it. The results of statistical analysis confirmed the statistical significance of mental health and anger management (r = 0.751, p = 0.05)Conclusion: The trauma is in the midst of a working and productive population of the society and there are irreparable losses for the country s economy as well. Creating special educational packages tailored to the level of education and social bases can be effective in preventing trauma.
