Green Synthesis of 1,2,4-Triazole Derivatives and Evaluation of their Antimicrobial Effects

چکیده مقاله:
Triazoles are an important class of five-membered aromatic heterocycles containing three nitrogenatoms. They are contained in two resonance forms [1]. The triazole ring system isfound in a variety of naturally occurring compounds and biologically active molecules [2].They are used in medicine as antifungal agents [3]. The resistance of bacteria and fungi to antibioticsis still increasing and can be a serious threat to human health in the future. New antimicrobialagents must be designed and identified to confront these pathogens. In this study,1,2,4-triazole derivatives were obtained via reaction of benzamidine and hydrazides in thepresence of K2CO3 in water (Fig. 1). The molecular structure of all synthesized compoundswere characterized with IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectra. Finally, the inhibitory effect of thesynthesized derivatives has been investigated on several Gram-positive and Gram-negativebacteria and pathogenic fungi. The result of this study showed that triazole compounds arepotential antibacterial and antifungal agents due to their significant inhibitory effects.
