چکیده مقاله:

Hypnosis does not always require suggestions and a state of relaxation. A hypnotic state can be induced through suggestions of activation and cognitive alertness. This procedure and the hypnotic state have been called active-alert hypnosis. The original procedure of active-alert hypnosis is to ask a person to ride a stationary bicycle while being offered suggestions to pay close attention to the therapist s voice, the pedaling, the legs sensations, automatic legs movements, energy, alertness, focus attention, inner peace, etc. (Banyai et al 1993).Abstract:having a stationary bicycle in the office is not always possible; therefore, in this workshop we will show an active-alert hypnosis technique through the alternate arms movements imagining having a pair of several kilograms dumbbells in each hand. The patientis asked to start moving arms from legs toward shoulders alternately, while given the suggestions of strength, motivation, energy, and optimism to reach the goals that they has previously written. This procedure, instead of producing relaxation and tranquility, has an effect of motivation, joy, feeling active and animated. The objective will be for the participants to establish their goals clearly with a specific methodology. Then they will write the obstacles to overcome in order to achieve their goals. Later, they will be shown the usage of the active-alert hypnosis technique. Attendees will be given a copy of the hypnotic script used during the workshop.
