COMPARATIVE INVESTIGATION OF HOSTILITY AND PARANOID THINKING IN ADDICTED AND NONADDICTED PEOPLE

چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : Addiction is a pervasive word and can be involve mixture of familial, medical, environmental, social, physiological and psychological aspects. Yet, psychological factors are very important and effective, but ambiguous, factors because impact on daily life of people. So, the study investigated hostility and paranoid thinking in addicted and nonaddicted people. Methods : The research method was causative - comparative. 190 addicted people and 190 nonaddicted people were selected and responded to Symptoms Check list (SCL25, Short form). The data were analyzed with T independent test. Results : Findings showed that there are significant differences between variables in two groups. Addicted people got higher and significant scores in hostility and paranoid thinking than nonaddicted people.Conclusion : With regards to findings, it seems that more attention to psychological disorders in addicted people is very important for increasing mental health and enhancing psychological tolerance of individuals toward the bad results of daily life events can result in the reduction of negative thinking, hostility and depression and finally preventing from tendency to abnormal behaviors specially tendency to addiction.
