چکیده مقاله:
Introduction and Objectives: Klebsiella pneumoniae is among the most common causes of hospital-acquired infections and one of the important opportunistic pathogens has occurred as a crucial threat to public health. The perpose of this study was to determine the molecular typing of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates using pulse field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) method. Materials and Methods: 70 Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates were isolated from clinical specimens in hospitals of Kurdistan province, Iran. After conformation of isolates by microbiological standard tests, the genotyping of isolates were performed using PFGE. The calculation of similarities was done by the Dice coefficient, and the unweighted paired group assay was used for cluster analysis (UPGMA). Results: For all clinical isolates, PFGE was performed. then the bands were analyzed using gels observed with BioNumerics version 7.6. According to the results of the analysis of isolated bands in 39 clusters with similarity greater than 80% (≥80% similarity) classified. Conclusions: The presence of the isolates with similar genotype may show a common origin and consequently, the dissemination of strains in hospitals. Our results indicate the genotypic variation of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates suggest the different origins for isolates.
