چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Patient safety has always been one of the concerns of health care organizations, and various strategies have been used to improve it. One of these strategies is the use of information technology and clinical information systems; Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of nursing information system on patient safety. Methods: In this review study conducted in 1399, the study population included articles that examined nurses' views about the nursing information system. SID, magician, and random databases were used to search for Persian articles, and google scholar, Pubmed, and Scopus were used for English articles. They were using the keywords nurse, nursing information system, hospital information system. The EHR was performed using advanced search and restricted to search article titles in September 2020 without restriction. After examining the affiliations, non-Iranian articles were deleted, and by reviewing the findings, related articles were selected, and the desired data were extracted. Results: After monitoring the articles, ten studies were selected from 651 articles. 68 / 53-12-57% of nurses believed that this system increases nurses' accuracy and reduces their error. Also, nurses believed that this system reduces medical errors. 69 / 47-07 / 47% of nurses considered this information system to improve decision making and monitoring. 56.82–82.95 82 / 56-95 / 82% of nurses also believed that this system improves nursing services quality (CI = 095%). Conclusion: The use of a nursing information system can undoubtedly promote patient safety culture. This system's impact on improving patient safety can be increased by using other technologies such as RFID and artificial intelligence. Also, nurses' participation in the design of this information system and the compatibility of nursing processes is another factor in improving patient safety.
