An analysis of the emergence and goals of the new city of thought

New cities are, in a sense, socio-economic phenomena throughout the world, which own special behavioral models in various issues. They are built in response to demands of different types, including social, industry, housing, etc. in Iran, cities are also used for the organization of national and regional systems. During the years, developing and utilizing cities bore some experiences regarding failure or success of new cities in Iran. The results of the present investigation indicate that new cities in Tehran province lack adequate independence in terms of employment and service self-sufficiency and continuously depend on the Tehran metropolis for the labor market and securing residents’ needs. Distance from Tehran and land and house price differences between Tehran and new Andisheh city are among the major factors of population absorption to this new town. The new Andisheh city, which is on the developing side of Tehran and only a few kilometers away from it, has had a higher rate of population growth. However, the new Andisheh successes in terms of population growth and housing demand originate from the city’s ill locating, which has negative effects shifting its burden on the surrounding towns, let alone diminishing the problems of the mother city. Some of these effects introduced some lands to the higher levels of the land market that until recent years were worthless and never considered by locals and not even by immigrants.The results obtained from the population through a sampling of new Andisheh citizens show thatexcept for absorbing Tehran's local population, new Andisheh city rather failed in achieving other targets.
