چکیده مقاله:

The present study investigated the university students’ perceptions about their exposure to linguistic landscape on their improvement of English language learning. To do so, ۱۵ Iranian and Turkish university students in Cyprus were selected through purposeful sampling. As for data collection, semi-structured interview was done with the participants. Qualitative analysis of interviews was done through grounded theory, which is in favor of categorizing the data. Findings revealed that EFL students highlighted the communicative role of linguistic landscape in the students’ learning process. Students were also found to be more motivated in using linguistic landscape in their daily conversations. Findings generally revealed the positivity of students’ perceptions regarding exposure to linguistic landscape environment. The results of the study contribute to conducting more mixed-method and experimental research studies to shed more light on the effectiveness of linguistic landscape on the learners’ language development in various contexts and being to real-life exposure to language input, which can be effective on learners' communication.
