Nowadays, there are different vehicles available in the market for different purposes. Considering the increase in pollution from vehicular activity as well as the rise in the price of fossil fuels, the use of vehicles continues to increase as transportation, travel, and other purposes depend on cars. The only solution to this problem is to use electric cars. With the expansion of electric vehicles, the focus of engineers on providing new ways to charge batteries increased so that by using wasted energy and recovering them, the batteries of the vehicle can be charged, and consumers do not need to charge electric or hybrid vehicles. Using an active regenerative suspension system is one way to make cars independent from charging. Today, the use of this system is rapidly expanding because a significant number of vibrations caused by the road are absorbed and damped by it, making the passengers comfortable. This study proposes a new active regenerative suspension framework for electric/hybrid vehicles. Also, a multi-variable controller is designed for the active regenerative suspension system to control the vibration and rotation of the vehicle’s body. Finally, the system simulation results illustrate that the vibration and rotation of the vehicle’s body using the active regenerative suspension system with the multi-variable controller are reduced by ۹۷% and ۹۰%, respectively.
