چکیده مقاله:

Impingement jets, whether confined or unconfined, has been widely used in industrial applications for many decades. They are most commonly applied in the fieldsof automotive, aerospace and processes such as tampering of plate glass, annealing of metal, drying of paper, cooling of gas turbine blades and cooling ofelectronic components and even cryosurgery of cancers. Moreover, the possibility of increasing the thermal performances of the working fluids can be taken intoaccount, and the introduction of nanofluid can be considered. Nanofluid is a novel heat transfer fluidprepared by dispersing nanometer-sized particles in traditional heat transfer fluid to increase thermal conductivity and heat transfer performance. In this study, laminar flow and heat transfer characteristics for a target with constant temperature is numerically investigated. Computations are done for amixture of water and nanoparticles with diameter of 38nm. A single-phase model approach for nanofluid is adopted and different particle volume concentrations areconsidered to study the behavior of the system in terms of average and local Nusselt number, skin friction coefficient and stream function contours. It can be clearly observed that using nanofluid results to higher heat transfer rate; when it is compared with purewater. Also higher skin friction is achieved; because of the existence of solid particles in base fluid.
