A Review on Limitations of Nida' s Dynamic Equivalence in Translation of Bible

This review paper tends to focus on the translation of Bible and also, its limitations in translation In the middle of twentieth century, the Bible translation theory called Dynamic Equivalence was introduced as the first definition theory of Bible translation. This review paper discusses the limitations of Bible translation based on Dynamic Equivalence. To do so, evidences are gathered from some scholars’ studies. Selected model was Nida's Dynamic Equivalence. The Dynamic Equivalence is based on communication; so, it is influenced by culture and language. As the result, Dynamic Equivalence can transfer content of text but it depends on translator's ability because the translator should be bilingual and bicultural. Also, this type of translation tends to be descriptive. Translator should control the description so that the text does not go away from content of the original text.
