The Difference between Male and Female Teachers’ Job Satisfaction and Resilience in English Language Institutions of Iran

چکیده مقاله:
EFL teachers play one of the most influential roles to help students engage and persist in the long process of second or foreign language acquisition. Due to the important role of teachers in language learning process,school systems and educational programs are expected to optimize the conditions for teachers’ effectiveness.This study tried to explore and investigate difference of job satisfaction and resilience among male and femaleIranian EFL teachers in English language institutes in two cities, Qazvin and Karaj. A total of 100 teachers (50 male & 50 female) with more than five years teaching experience were selected for the study. The required data was collected through two job satisfaction and resilience questionnaires. Independent-Samples T-Test andMann-Whitney U Test (SPSS version 22) were used for analysis of obtained quantitative data of the study. The results of the study indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between male and female teachers’ job satisfaction, the results were in favor of females. On the other hand, there was no statistically difference between male and female teachers’ resilience.
