The underrating of the early sources in the education and research of traditional medicine

چکیده مقاله:

Education and research play pivotal roles in preserving and strengthening the achievements of traditional medicine. Paying attention to the authentic sources of traditional medicine which constitute the foundations of the this type of disciplines– seems to face obstacles to remove which one should delineate and explain them. Accordingly, this paper is critique of the underestimation of the historical sources, recognition of their place and of how medicine as discipline has been formed in various eras in the fields of traditional medicine. In other words, it tries to examine the problem of underrating the sources of traditional medicine, employing an analytical-descriptiveMethod in literature research. The most important problems in this regard include: the significant manuscripts on Persian traditional medicine available in libraries are notrecognized; these sources have not been critically edited, the exegeses are scarce for those in need of explanation for research purposes. The general solution to these problems seems to lie in supporting the fields of education and research in History of Medical Sciences, in order to train more skilled experts in the field.
